Governor Mutahi Kahiga Makes A Party Change

Earlier today, the governor who was among the leaders accompanied the Deputy president on a two-day tour. Hinted at the move, claiming the Jubilee party has grown lonely.

The governor however fell short of making his defection clear. Where he stated that he will be heading to DP Ruto’s Karen home. Where he will don the UDA colors and officially join the party.

However, DP Ruto welcomed him into the party. Ruto made stopovers in Kieni as well as Tetu today.

“Kahiga alikuwa amebaki peke yake kule Jubilee, tumemwambia akuje Kwa wira ni wira,” DP   Ruto said on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Tetu MP James Gichuhi also announced his defection today. Saying he will now be seeking re-election as the region legislator on a UDA ticket.

The latest comes just a day after four governors from Central Kenya announced their departure from the beleaguered Jubilee party.
