Kenyan celebrities also have not been left behind as a number of them continue sharing their interests to vie for various political seats. Here are some of the Kenyan celebrities vying for various seats.

Comedian and MC Jasper Muthomi, popularly known as MC Jessy, shocked his fans when he declared his interest to be the next South Imenti MP.

In September last year, Jessy officially joined the parliamentary race and the constituency’s elders endorsed him.

Jasper Muthomi on Wednesday officially joined the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) as he seeks the South Imenti parliamentary seat. The Kenyan Celebrity also stated that he arrived at the decision after holding various consultative meetings with the people of South Imenti. He described UDA as the ‘winning team’.

“It’s now clear where the vision is heading. After many days of consultative meetings with my South Imenti people, UDA have officially invited me to join. The groundwork that has been done has finally landed on the side of winning team.”

Kiss FM radio presenter Felix Odiwuor popularly known as Jalang’o announced that he will be vying for the Lang’ata parliamentary seat. Speaking during his morning show, Jalang’o revealed that he has signed a contract that will see him back in the studio if he fails to secure the Lang’ata Member of Parliament seat.


“In my life, I have never done anything that I have to lose. God forbid…but also if I lose, is that the end of the world? We pick up from where we left and move on. I have signed a very hard contract here… that if I lose, the next day I will be in the studio, ” he said.

Gospel artiste Smith Mwatia also known as Rufftone announced that he is eyeing the Nairobi senator seat. Early January 2022, Rufftone was among aspiring politicians who were part of DP Ruto’s entourage during his tour in Nairobi County.

The Kenyan Celebrity officially joined Deputy President William Ruto’s party – United Democratic Party (UDA), as the race for the next Nairobi Senator gets hotter.


Flamboyant rapper CMB Prezzo has made it clear that he will be running for Kasarani Parliamentary seat  in the forthcoming General Elections.


Prezzo announced that he has resigned from the Wiper party. He however did not give a reason behind his move. The move to resign from Wiper seems to have been thought and executed months ago despite the announcement coming much later, on January 25.
