Raila Odinga Embarks On Launching Presidential Campaign

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga will be launching his presidential Campaign in Thika this Sutarday.

Raila Odinga met a group of youths on Tuesday. And said the meeting will bring together other counties from Mount Kenya. After that, he will be taking the campaigns to other regions of the country.

During his meeting with the youths Odinga said “Jumamosi hii tunaenda Thika….tunakwenda kuongea na watu wa kiambu na watu wa murang’a hapo Thika na kuwaambia azimio la umoja imefika.”

Raila’s first Rally for his 2022 presidential bid is to be at President Kenyatta’s home of Kiambu county. Is termed as figurative by his campaign managers as he carries on his push for support in the Mt. Kenya region.  

Odinga’s 2022 presidential campaign board chaired by Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Muriithi. Held a meeting on Monday to among other things. Lay down structures and merge his journey that kicks off in Thika on Saturday.

“This is not Raila Odinga seeking employment as the president of Kenya…I want to partner with you so that we can be able to bring change to our country. ” Odinga added.

Moreover, Odinga rallied the youth behind his campaigns promising to bring a solution to the unemployment threat once and for all.

“Every year we will push you into the labor market, nearly 1 million people…the youth who are leaving schools at the level of primary, secondary, tertiary, or university this 1 million cannot be employed by 70,000 vacancies available in the public sector,” he further said.

Scholar Prof. Makau Mutua on his part said their campaign platform on what Raila is running for is a society inclusive. And no child will be left behind no matter where one comes from they will all get full rights of citizenship.

However, Leaders allied to ODM party leader Raila Odinga called on the country to fully back the Azimio la Umoja movement. Above all to distance themselves from leaders spreading hate.
